My earliest documnented research: Isaac N. EuDaily, born 3l March l79l in Charlotte Co., Va. His obituary states "he removed to Rutherford Co., Tenn. in l8l0, and arrived in Madison, Ind. Jan. l4, l8l6." I have not established his parentage. There were several Eudailys in Char. Co. at this time. Oral history (not documented): John Eudaly born ca. l725 in Acadia (Nova Scotia), Canada. (Acadia: "A former French Colony in S.E. Canada ceded to Great Britain in l7l3" - Harper's dictionary). John was in Charlotte Co., Va. by l785 and died there ca. l800. Eudalys were French Huguenots ("members of the Reformed or Calvinistic communion of France in the l6th and l7th centuries; French Protestants " - Harper's dictionary) who fled France during the persectuion of the Huguenots, fleeing first to Acadia then to Charlotte Co., Va. I have been told that the EuDaly name is a form of O'Dalaigh PLEAES e-mail if you have any info. Rachael

Researching Richard Daley & Catharine Kerwin of Ballyroebuck, County Wexford, Ireland. Several children, Thomas, Owen, Martin, Sarah, etc. They settled in Chelsea, Quebec, Canada and from there my gr-gr-grandfather Martin Daley moved to Burlington, Vermont. Name was spelled Daly and Daley by various brothers and sisters. If you are connected with Daly or Daley in Burlington, Vermont or farther back to Quebec and Ontario, Canada there's a chance we are connected. I will post additional names when I get the web page going at www.JPS.net/tdaley. Slainte, Tom Daley

I am looking for info on Patrick Daly who was married to Catherine O"Hara. They lived in the County of Galway in the small townland of Doogra (Dugara) and owned land there from 1866 to 1902. I lost track of them after that. They had many children (suprise) some of them are Peter 1860, Catherine 1865, Bridget 1867, John Joseph 1870, Michael 1874, my Grandfather James Patrick 1875 and Margaret ? There are probably more but this is all I have now. I know John, Patrick, Michael and Margaret came to America but I do not know what happened to the other siblings. Any news would be so welcome. Going to the old Sod in April of 2000 and hope to learn more about where the ggrandparents are buried. Thanks

I am looking for information about my family, but I have little to go on, my father was Max Leighton Daly, who was 29 years old when I was born in 1957. and I believe he had a sister called Margaret nicknamed Peg. I saw a book of old photographs that contained some pictures of a Charles Daly. Others were of Deborah Flannagan. There was a picture of an old house in Vermont. I plan to go back to get it and see if I can locate the family. I hate to think of pictures just laying somewhere when I'm sure someone in the family would want them. I'll write again when I have more details on the other names.

Posted to this message board a long time ago when I thought our name was always spelled Daley, but since have found it was originally Dailey. Looking for any information on my Great Great Grandparents Michael Dailey and Margaret Foord, both born in 1832 possibly Cork, immigrated to Boston about 1851 or 1852, not sure what ship and settled in Berkshire County, MA where they lived in 1860 census. Possibly moved to Columbia County, NY after that. They had five children, John,Mary Ann, Thomas, Michael(my great grandfather) and Margaret. Michael and Thomas eventually moved to Scranton, PA but have no other information on Michael Sr. and Margaret. Need to find the ship they sailed on or where they went after 1860.

He came to USA, alone, in 1860, leaving behind his parents and 2 sisters. He may have returned to Dublin, briefly, during the Civil War, but entered the USArmy in Williamsburg, NY in 1866. Hi, I'm looking for any information as to the birthplace of my paternal grandfather James Daly. Supposedly he emigrated to the Boston area in the late 1800's and settled in Medford MA. My paternal grandmother Agnes (Gallant) Daly emigrated to Medford from Prince Edward Island somewhere around the turn of the century. I believe that my Grandfather had at least two brothers who also lived near Boston, Patrick and Nelson. Any help would be most appreciated.Thank you.

I am interested in finding out more about my Canadian Ancestors. My Maternal Grandfathers name was Asil John Bomyea. He was born in Paul Smiths, New York in United States January 15, 1910 to Asil John Bomyea Sr and Katherine Hamner. His father was beleived to have come from Eastern side of Canada. They were Methodist. If you know of Bomyea's residing in Canada and or what areas they lived in I would appreciate hearing fron you.I am also looking for info on my fathers family who were also from Canada. My grandfathers name is Alfred LaVair. I know he was born in Canada and his parents spoke mainly french. They moved to Northeastern New York in the USA too. The spelling of LaVair may have been changed (Lavaire or Lavare?) They would have come from eastern Canada also. They were Catholic. Any info would also be helpful.

I am trying to find information on James P. Daly, born 1 Nov, 1833 in Lockland Ohio. Moved to Kansas City Mo after the Civil War and married Ella Bennett on 9 Sept, 1868. Family lore says he studied for the priesthood and that he may have been born in Ireland and that the name was originally O'Daly. Had 8 children, Mary Ellen, Felix, Paul, Julia, James, Rosa, Curtis, and Bessie. May have had a brother named Jeremiah S and his mother may have been named Ellen. Have had very little luck with tracing James and would appreciate any help!
