Hi Daly's!I have a few lost DALY'S and need your help! My G grandfather was DENNIS DALY. He was born in Ireland about 1852. He md. ELLEN MADDEN b. Oswego, New York 1854 d. October 12, 1941. I've tried to find my Dennis but have had no luck at all. I do have 2 death certificates for two differnt Dennis Daly's. In 1865 there were three Dennis Daly's living in Oswego. All the death certificates have on them are the dates that they died and nothing else.My DALY'S are all buried in St. Paul's cemetery in Oswego, N.Y. BUT! There was a fire at the record office in the late 1800's or early 1900's and all records at the cemetery were lost. The only people accounted for in the cemetery are the one's with headstones. My DALY'S must now have head stones, they are no where to be found.Other names connected to my DALY'S are: MADDEN, BURKE, DONOVAN, LEE AND SMITH.I hope someone out there is also looking for this family.Good Luck With Your DALY'S!Lee

Hi,I hope someone can help. I'm traveling to Waterford in November and would like to look up my father's (Edmond Augustine Daly Jr) family. His father and my grandfather, Edmond A. Daly Sr. was born around 1900 in Waterford and left for Boston, MA around 1920. Edmond Sr. was the youngest of 9 siblings. Edmond Sr. married Esther Hughes and had two children - my father Edmond and his sister, Elizabeth. Edmond Sr. passed away in 1968 and Esther in 1983. I know my grandfather kept in touch with his family in Ireland but we've now lost connection. I believe Edmond Sr.'s family may have been farmers. Thanks for any help. Regards,Edmond A. Daly III

Looking for anyone with a connection to PATRICK and MARY DALY, who received a land grant and settled in Richmond Corner, Carleton Co., New Brunswick in the 1820s. Children include James, Ellen, William, Margaret, Mary Ann, Catherine, and Elizabeth. I believe my ggggrandmother MARY ANN DALY (not the one who was their child) was related to Patrick somehow, being in the same area at the same time and no other Dalys about. (Another person posted a query last year about the same family but the note I sent to this person just bounced back-oh, well!) I'm hoping someone researching this family may have some clues that could help me verify this connection. I believe my Mary Ann was from Clonfeacle Parish, Co. Tyrone. Thanks!

In response to DJ Daly - it should not come as too big a surprise that Daly's are in or came from Lebanon. I know of a Daly family that has Syrian roots. In fact, I have read that some historical scholars contend that there are Daly's in the Middle East because of the Crusades. they contend that some Irish warriors settled in villages in Syria on their way back from the Crusades. And I have also heard that there are Syrian villages where some of the people have strinkingly Irish features. Anyone else heard about this?

What may come as a surprise is that the name Daly is not only used among the Irish people, but it is also known in Lebanon. I met at young lady from the Boston area whose name is Daly. Her family is from Lebanon. She tells me that there is a whole village of Daly's in Lebanon. The name seems to be of Turkish origin. If you don't look Irish, and your name is Daly...you might be one of the Lebanese Dalys.

My grandfather, Mike Daly, and two older brothers, Jim & Jack, emigrated to NYC in early 1900's. Either Jim or Jack may have been a policeman in NYC. Their parents were Thomas and Mary Daly, no maiden name available. Mike was born in Carrigholt, near Kilrush, in Co. Clare in 1885. The Clare Heritage Centre was unable to locate a marriage record for his parents or any birth records for other siblings, so the family may have moved to Clare from another county. If any of this sounds familiar to any Daly's, or Daly descendents, I'd enjoy hearing from you and comparing notes.

My mother's maiden name was Madeline Daly of Jersey City, New Jersey. Her father was Thomas H. Daly born in Philadelphia, PA in the 1880's. He worked for the Pennisylvania Railroad. He married Anna Veronia Brown of Jersey City around 1910. He was orphaned and had three siblings. Margaret Daly who married and remained in Philadelphia. John Daly who married and moved to Pottsville, PA. The third sibling is unknown to me. My grandfather grew up in a orphanage in Philadelphia. His father, Thomas J. Daly was also born in Philadelphia. I have no other info. Please contact me via email if you believe you have any info about my Daly ancestors.

I am currently looking into my mothers family history. Her father was John DALY, a printer in Armagh. He married Mary Catherine Tennyson and they had a number of children. I know that Mary Catherine was from Maghery. I know very little other information. My grandfather died in 1941 at the age of 60. So he was born around 1880. Any info which can be supplied would be greatfully accepted.

I'm looking for any connections to my branch of the Dalys (with various spellings including Dally): John Daly's son, Joseph, was born around 1813 in Dublin. He probably had a sister, Margaret. They moved to London, England and Joseph married Mary Ann Bearfield or Benfield (formerly Richards) in South London. They had Elizabeth Agnes and James, born 1845 and 1848. They then moved up to Stafford with the canal company. Elizabeth became a nun (Mary Agnes des Anges)and headed off to San Francisco. She was there at the time of the great earthquake. Any clues or tips?

Born Robert John Daly in 1936, mother & father divorced when 3 yrs of age.At 13 yrs of age, adopted by stepfather Frood. At age 64 yrs, located Daly family relatives. An uncle, cousin,2 sisters & a brother. The cousin can now add substantial info to the Family Tree and History Dossier he is compiling. A Sept gathering is sought. I am astounded to the strength of the emotions that have been activated within me since this reunion. Has anyone else experienced similar catharsis like feelings in similar circumstances.

Just found this site. Have been researching my ggg-grandmother, Roxana Dawley b. 1800. Have traced her back through her father Nathaniel Dawley, to Christopher Dawley b. 1780, to Michael Dawley born in Ireland in 1628. If anyone out there is of the same line, or can go back farther, I would greatly appreciate any information or contact.
