DR. DALY DIES AT HOME FROM HEART ATTACK
Dr. James J. Daly, 75, died yesterday morning Tuesday, at 8:00 o'clock at his home at 508 Winnebago street from a heart attack. He had been ill for some time.
Date of the funeral is pending the arrival of his children. Services will be held in St. Benedict's Catholic church with burial in the Catholic cemetery, with Father M. E. Nolan officiating. The Winneshiek Burial Association is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Dr. Daly was born Jan. 13, 1870, at Elkader, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin Daly. He was married November 7, 1911, to Nellie Davis of Faith, S.D., who survives.
The deceased first practiced medicine in Charles City and for the past 22 years has been a physician in Decorah, where he has been examining physician for the local selective service board during its four years existence. He was health officer in Decorah for a number of years and also physician for the county farm.
Dr. Daly attended the teachers' college in Cedar Rapids and was a graduate of the Northwestern medical school in Chicago.
Surviving with his widow are three children, Josephine, an ensign in the Waves at Washington, D.C., Carl, principal of radio electricians for the United Air Lines, at Kirksville, Md., and Martin at home. There are two grandchildren, Billy Joe and Claudia Ellen.
One brother and two sisters survive Martin Daly, in Seattle, Wash., Mary in Chicago, and Sister Mary Immaculate at Elkader. One brother, Dr. Will Daly of Cresco is deceased.
