MRS. KATE DALY, 68, LONG RESIDENT OF CRESCO, DIED TUESDAY
Mrs. Kate Daly, 68, of La Grange, Illinois, wife of the late Dr. William Daly of Cresco, died in her home early yesterday morning. Death was the result of a heart attack. Her body was brought to Cresco this morning.
Funeral services for the well-known former Cresco woman will be held in the Cresco Assumption Church tomorrow morning (Thursday) at 9:30. The Rev. Vernon Peters, pastor, will offer the requiem mass and burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. The Bradley Funeral home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Daly, the former Kate Reed, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Reed, pioneer couple. Her father served for some time as federal judge of the Northeast district in Dubuque.
Dr. Daly died in 1933, and two years later Mrs. Daly moved to Washington D.C. where she was employed by the government. She had recently moved to LaGrange, the home of her son, Reed Daly.
Surviving Mrs. Daly, besides her son, are three grandchildren and a brother, Carl W. Reed of Des Moines, member of the State Commerce commission and former longtime Cresco resident.
